Snug Harbor project

UPDATE:   Construction was completed the summer of 2017 on both the separated pathway and the road work.  The remaining task is to establish rest stops and other trail-side items that will help interpret for users as well as direct traffic.  This summer a grant from Kenai Mountains Turnagain Arm National Heritage Area helped us write a guide for this and future Walkable Community projects to make them an integrated whole through signage and planning of trail-side amenities.

REMINDER: The Snug Harbor portion of the Cooper Landing Walkable Community Project started as a grant from the federal highways fund.  In short, the grant was written to include walkable/bikeable pathways and paving of the road out to our Senior Housing Center on Snug Harbor Road to improve access to the Chugach National Forest lands beyond.
